OLD STURBRIDGE VILLAGE

Overview
A trip to Old Sturbridge Village, the largest outdoor history museum in the Northeast, is a journey through time to a rural NE town of the 1830s. With more than 40 original buildings, each carefully researched, restored, and brought to the museum site from towns throughout New England, you can visit homes, meetinghouses, a district school, country store, bank, law office, printing office, carding mill, sawmill, gristmill, and more. Authentically costumed history interpreters demonstrate daily life, work and community celebrations. A must see when visiting Greater Boston! The museum gift shop and the book store offer a wonderful selection of 19th century replicas including foods, toys, kitchen items, jewelry and gifts and over 5,000 titles on museum-related subjects. The Bullard Tavern located on the Village Common specializes in a traditional New England mid-day buffet served in an inviting historical atmosphere. This hearty meal is a perfect complement to a Village visit.
