Boston Strolls offers a unique selection of walking tours designed to explore often overlooked themes in Boston's history: Beacon Hill Uncensored is a 90 minute tour of the scenic streets of Beacon Hill as we discuss the seedy past of this now upscale neighborhood and the more colorful characters whose mark on history is often overlooked – a sleepwalking murderer and Boston’s earliest known nudist, just to name a few! Back Bay Deconstructed is a 90 minute stroll through the heart of the Back Bay with discussion of the cultural shifts that inspired the creation of this upscale neighborhood and the technological innovations that made the vision possible. Was Beacon Hill really cut down to fill in the Back Bay? How did nineteenth century work crews erect Trinity Church on top of a swamp? And which one of Copley Square’s architectural wonders is actually floating? All will be revealed.
