Southeastern Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Bureau was incorporated in 1967 as the Tourist Council of Bristol County. Renamed the Bristol County Development Council, then the Bristol County Convention & Visitors Bureau, and finally the Southeastern Massachusetts Convention & Visitors Bureau, the SMCVB's mission is "To market and assist in the development of southern Massachusetts' tourism resources."
