The Waterworks Museum interprets unique stories of the country's first metropolitan water system through exhibitions and educational programs on engineering, architecture, social history, and public health. Located along the Chestnut Hill reservoir, the Waterworks Museum showcases three massive Steam engines and their pumps preserved in their original glory - one of the best publicly-accessible collections of this machinery in existence. The museum will open in March 2011, and will be open Wednesday from 11 am - 9 pm, and Thursday - Sunday 11 am - 4 pm (closed Monday & Tuesday) Donations encouraged.
