Boston Common Holiday Lighting
December 1, 2007
Join in a Boston holiday tradition with the annual tree lighting ceremony at Boston Common. This is the 66th year for the ceremony, which features activities and excitement before the illuminating moment when Boston's mayor flips the switch to the light the tree - and other unbelievable holiday lights. The audience sings along to Christmas carols and watches all sorts of performances including the Boston Children's Chorus. Mayor Menino with a little help from Santa, sets the Common ablaze with the beautiful lights as he flips the "light" switch on.
Last year, the 65th annual tree lighting ceremony at Boston Common gathered a record 20,000 revelers for the event. The event guarantees to be fun for the entire family, and you'll no doubt find yourself immersed in holiday cheer! Don't miss out on your chance to join in an Boston tradition.
