Sake Bomb
Sundays Uni Sashimi Bar at
the Eliot Hotel

Sake with cold beer combined with loads of sashimi
and fish tacos. Can you think of a better way to top off
your weekend? Ken Oringer has brought Sake
bombing back to Uni Sashimi Bar at the Eliot Hotel on
Sunday nights from 5:30 to 10:00. Guests are invited to
experience the exotic taste of the Japanese alcohol and
the fun of Sake Bombing with a 4-course fixed price
menu, a Sapporo beer, and sake for just $35.
For the un-initiated, a Sake Bomb
consists of a shot of Sake, an alcohol beverage
fermented from rice, dropped into a large glass of
Japanese beer, while pounding the table so that the shot
glass falls into the beer. When the Sake meets the beer
it will fizz until guests guzzle their beers as quickly
as they can. This marathon process is repeated until the
diners exercise their judgment to stop.
Since the Japanese traditionally have considered
Sake a drink of family celebration and friendship, Uni
offers an atmosphere for mingling and socializing.
According to award winning chef Ken Oringer, "Sake
Bombing is a contemporary low tech way to help folks
relax on Sunday nights before the work week begins.
Uni Sashimi Bar at 370 A
Massachusetts Ave. offers a full menu of sashimi and
sake and creative cocktails every day of the week from
5:30 until 11:00 PM. For more information, visit www.cliorestaurant.com. |
