Boston Marathon- April 21, 2008
Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annually contested
marathon. The legendary Boston Marathon course follows a
point-to-point route from rural Hopkinton to Boston and is
certified per the guidelines set forth by the IAAF and USA
Track and Field.
Since its inception, the Boston Marathon has been held on the
holiday commemorating Patriots' Day. Approximately 500,000
spectators line the 26.2-mile course annually, making the
Boston Marathon New England's most widely viewed sporting
event, according to estimates by police and public safety
officials from the eight cities and towns along the route.The
112th Boston Marathon will be on April 21, 2008.
Lacrosse 2008 NCAA Men's Championship
The Boston
Local Organizing Committee welcomes the world's lacrosse community
to Gillette Stadium for the 2008 NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships
May 24-26.The three-day event features championships in Divisions
I, II and III, the only NCAA championship that involves all three
divisions at one site. In addition to the actual lacrosse games,
Gillette Stadium will be full of fan-oriented excitement including
youth lacrosse clinics, interactive sponsor fan zones, and
community-oriented initiatives. Ticket sales for the 2008 NCAA
Men's Lacrosse Championships will begin May 1, 2008 for
New England Patriot and Revolution season ticket holders, and
promotional partners of the 2008 Local Organizing Committee. This
"private" sale will continue until May 24, 2008 at which
time ticket sales for the general public will begin.
