11-13, 2008. Canadian Men's Magazine is a new monthly magazine (200,000 issues a month
will be published in the first year) debuting late April 2008 nationwide
(Canada). A big feature on Boston will appear in the debut issue. The
magazine’s vision is to be along the same lines as "Men's Health" magazine in
the United States, but geared towards interests of the Canadian Male, targeting
men age 25-55. Award-winning journalists will write about family, relationships,
sports, tourism, technology, fashion and business in a uniquely
Canadian way. Launching simultaneously will be Canadian Men's TV on Global. The
magazine’s partnership with CanWest Global Communications has allowed them to
release a weekly television show discussing topics from the magazine with
reports from across North America.
Each issue will dedicate
5 to 8 pages on a tourism destination with Boston chosen as the first
destination. Dave would like to include information on Boston
accommodations, culture specific to Boston, sports teams, restaurants and night
life. They would like to experience many things as locals and do not expect to
be treated as VIPs, but they would greatly appreciate any story ideas or
discounts members of the GBCVB can provide in exchange for coverage in the
Boston feature (host hotel will definitely be featured). They already have Red
