The 118th Boston Marathon will be held on April 21, 2014, which is Patriots' Day in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This year's field is expanded to 36,000 runners, which is almost 10,000 more runners than last year.  Boston Strong!!

The Boston Marathon is the world's oldest annual marathon and ranks as one of the world's most prestigious road racing events. The Boston Athletic Association manages this American classic, which is sponsored by John Hancock Financial Services. The Boston Marathon has distinguished itself as the pinnacle event within the sport of road racing by virtue of its traditions, longevity and method of gaining entry into the race (via qualification). The recommended way to get to the start in Hopkinton on race morning is by using the official B.A.A. buses between 6:15 a.m. and 9:20 a.m. The buses pick up on Tremont Street off of Boston Common.
