excited to announce that the American Camp Association, New England (ACA New
England) is ramping up for its 3rd Annual Camp Champions Celebration honoring
Watertown native and popular actress Eliza Dushku on Friday, November 22nd at
the State Street Pavilion at Fenway Park. The evening celebrates the true
spirit of camp, and all net proceeds will help to bring the summer camp
experience to the area's children-in-need through ACA New England’s Campership
Fund, which helped more than 150 children attend summer camps in New England
states as a result of last year’s Camp Champions Celebration and fundraising.
ACA New England will present Eliza Dushku with the 2013 Camp Champions Award for her extraordinary work developing a program for girls at Camp Hale in New Hampshire where girls and young women from inner-city Boston area can experience first-hand how life-changing camp can be. “Eliza Dushku believes in camp and believes that there is camp for everyone,”
said Bette Bussel, Executive Director of ACA New England. “Her leadership in creating an all-girls program at Camp Hale in New Hampshire has altered and enriched the lives of dozens of young women.
And beyond creating the camp, she also went there and served as a counselor in 2013. Eliza Dushku truly defines a ‘Camp Champion.”
