In a Boston Harborfest tradition, on the morning of July 4 a flag-raising ceremony will occur at City Hall Plaza, followed by a procession featuring the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company which proceeds from City Hall Plaza to the Granary Burying Ground, and then circles back to the Old State House for a reading of the Declaration of Indepedence.
Since 1776, America's Independence has been declared from the Old State House balcony. Join us again this year for the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence by a member of the Ancient and the Honorable Artillery Company. The event is brought to you by the City of Boston and the Bostonian Society. Free outside the Old State House.
