On February 9th, 2014, from 10 am to 5 pm, all are welcome to attend the free Lion Dance Parade in Boston's Chinatown! This is a traditional celebration featuring brightly colored Chinese costumes worn by lion dancers, who are also martial artists. The actual date of the New Year in 2014 is January 31, but the parade will be a bit later. The event starts at 10 am from the stage in Phillips Square (at Harrison Avenue and Essex Street.
Performances will take place throughout the day. There is also a Chinese New Year Cultural Village inside the East West Bank at 74 Harrison Ave., with Chinese arts and crafts for all ages.
