From 8:00PM to 12:00AM, Brian Thomas & the BT All Stars will perform a live jam session featuring the music of Eddie Harris, Lou Donaldsonand Les McCann.
Cold Duck Time is a rock-influenced jazz standard written by Eddie Harris and first appeared on his album with Les McCann, "Swiss Movement," which went onto become one of the biggest-selling jazz albums of all time. Primarily known for his saxophone playing and use of electronic effects, Harris delved into crossover-friendly jazz-pop and rock- and funk-influenced fusion, and he frequently collaborated with soul jazz pianist and vocalist, Les McCann.
On this night Brian Thomas will be joined on The Beehive stage by some of Boston's best as they channel the greats of the era including Harris, McCann and alto saxophonist Lou Donaldson. Boston based trombonist, Brian Thomas is one of the most sought after musicians in the country, playing music ranging from jazz to funk. He has been playing trombone since the age of 10 and leads his own jazz quartet, big band, and funk power house Akashic Record, each of which feature his original compositions.
The night's music will be complemented by the culinary contributions of Executive Chef Marc Orfaly from 5:00PM-2:00AM. Guests are welcome for a full dinner or can choose from The Beehive's collection of cocktails and snacks at the bar while they enjoy the show.
