The Harvard Square Business Association, Cambridge Arts Council and Ocean River Institute are pleased to announce two free family movie nights in Harvard Square.  Please join us on Palmer Street on August 10th and 24th at dusk (approximately 7:30pm) for an evening of films shown outdoors and under the stars celebrating hope for ocean wildlife and for this blue green planet.

On Saturday, August 10th, Ocean River Institute will be screening, Ocean Frontiers, the Dawn of a New Era in Ocean Stewardship.  This film shows communities coming together to save right whales from the boat traffic in Boston Harbor and saving reef fish in the Florida Keys.  Immediately following, a beloved film about the bond between a boy and an orca whale will be shown.

On Saturday, August 24th, Ocean River Institute will show part two of Ocean Frontiers, the Dawn of New Era in Ocean Stewardship.  This time, the film focuses on how Iowa farmers did not see the connection between what is washing off their land and an expanding ocean dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico, until they all go fishing off the shores of Louisiana.  Back in Ohio, farmers fix the problems with creative and very effective solutions because of their love for ocean wildlife.  This will be followed by a family favorite from New Zealand about a girl and a whale.

Free admission and complimentary popcorn!  Snacks and other refreshments will be available for purchase.  Bring a blanket, lawn chairs and the kids for an evening of inspiration and thought provoking family fun in the heart of Harvard Square.
