Oops. This event is over, but we have plenty of more great events coming up on our calendar.

  • January 11, 2014 - March 30, 2014

Old Sturbridge Village is kicking off the new year by offering free admission for children (ages 17 and under) on weekends, January 11 through March 30, when accompanied by one adult paying full-priced, regular admission.  The offer does not apply to evening events or to educational groups of 10 or more.  Other coupons or discounts do not apply.

The Village hosts a wide range of special events on many of the weekends during the Kids Free on Winter Weekends promotion and the offer extends to include Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Presidents' Day.  Other notable weekend events where the Kids Free offer will apply include the Antique Sleigh Rally on February 1, Be Mine:  Chocolate and Valentines on February 8 and 9, Maple Days on March 1-2, 8-9, 15-16 and 22-23, Celtic Celebrations on March 15 and 16, and Native American Weekend on March 29 and 30.

Whether a special event is offered or not, there are fun activities for kids every weekend at Old Sturbridge Village during the winter.  Kids can take sleigh rides, try old-fashioned sledding, explore historic buildings, engage with Old Sturbridge Village interpreters, pretend to be a 19th-century Villager in the museum's KidStory exhibit, or make hands-on crafts.  The Village is a great place to get outside, learn and explore in a safe and fun environment.

Old Sturbridge Village is one of the largest living history museums in the nation, celebrating life in early New England from 1790 - 1840. Located just off the Massachusetts Turnpike and Routes I-84 and 20 in Sturbridge, Mass., OSV is open year-round, but days and hours vary seasonally.  The Village offers visitors lodging at the Old Sturbridge Inn and Reeder Family Lodges and several dining options on-site.  During the winter, the Village is open Tuesday through Sunday 9:30 a.m. - 4 p.m., and on all Monday holidays, including Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Presidents Day.  It is also open daily for School Vacation Week February 15-23. Admission: $24; seniors $22; children 3-17: $8 for admission, but free with one full-priced adult admission on weekends through March 30 (no other discounts or coupons apply); children 2 and under: free. Admission includes free parking and a free second-day visit within 10 days. OSV members receive free daytime admission all year long. For more details, visit www.osv.org or call 800-SEE-1830.
