His Holiness the Dalai Lama is coming to Boston. The event will include a special transmission on Bodhicitta "The Awakening Mind" and a separate commentary on "The Eight Verses of Mind Training".
The event is scheduled to take place at the Citi Wang Theatre on October 30, 2014 from 9am till 3pm with a one hour lunch break from 11:30am - 12:30pm. The day of teaching is sponsored by the Prajna Upadesa Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to spreading wellbeing through the publication of classical Nalanda texts, study, and meditation practice.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet. He has consistently advocated policies of non-violence, even in the face of extreme aggression. He is also the first Nobel Laureate to be recognized for his concern for global environmental problems. He was awarded the United States highest civilian honor, The Congressional Gold Medal in 2007 and in 2012 received The Templeton Prize which honors a living person who has made an exceptional contribution to affirming life's spiritual dimension, whether through insight, discovery, or practical works.
