Transcending Boundaries at the Mary Baker Eddy Library

Together with Artists for Humanity, The Mary Baker Eddy Library is pleased to announce a new exhibit. Artists for humanity has been serving Boston area youth for over 20 years, with a mission to "bridge economic, racial, and social divisions by providing under-resourced youth with the keys to self-sufficiency through paid employment in the arts."

"What is home in today's world?"
At the beginning of the Mapparium'sTM sound and light show, visitors are greeted with the phrase, "Welcome home." The encapsulated space allows them to wholly settle into an inverted Planet Earth. They traverse time and space to experience the world in 1935. They hear other visitors' amplified thoughts underneath the North Star. And they whisper to each other across the globe, discovering how small the world really is and how connected we are. From these unique experiences inside the Mapparium, Artists for Humanity decided to further examine this theme of global interconnectedness by posing this question to our visitors:
