Malcolm Rogers, Ann and Graham Gund Director of the MFA

On Sunday, September 7, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), celebrates the 20th anniversary of Malcolm Rogers, Ann and Graham Gund Director, with a free community day. The longest-tenured Director in MFA history, Rogers has established a legacy of opening doors to communities from Boston and around the world.

Family activities on September 7 will include special art-making sessions and a performance led by artist Shinique Smith, whose solo exhibition will be on view in the Henry and Lois Foster Gallery. MFA partner Diablo Glass School--a local art studio based in the Mission Hill neighborhood--will demonstrate the art of glass blowing outside the Museum's Huntington Avenue entrance on Bank of America Plaza. Additionally, tours and talks throughout the day will underscore the impact Rogers has had on the MFA's encyclopedic collection.  A full schedule of events, including special performances by Revolution of Hope--a local youth orchestra from Roxbury--will be available on mfa.org.

Visitors can use the hashtag #MR20 to share their favorite MFA memory with Malcolm on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.

MFA Community Day: Celebrating 20 Years of Ann and Graham Gund Director Malcolm Rogers is supported by The Malcolm Rogers 20th Anniversary Fund.
