With 4 (and possibly as many as 6) players with NBA experience, Team Barstool came into TBT as a favorite to win the Championship and the first weekend in Philadelphia did little to change the public's perception of the team. In victories over Barstool Philly, the PUBB Champions (Princeton alums), DMV's Finest, and Big Apple Basketball, the Barstool squad exhibited a surprising level of coordination and cohesion, a tribute to coach Ross Burns's regular workouts with the core members of the team at the New York Athletic Club. In the TBT Championship Game, Team Barstool will continue to rely on the scoring tandem of Dahntay Jones (21.8 ppg) and Matt Walsh (18.6 ppg), while the back-court duo of Andre Barrett (8.8 apg) and Donnie McGrath get the scorers the ball on the wing. For their part, the Fighting Alumni cruised through the field during TBT's opening weekend, winning each game they played by double figures, culminating in a 30 point blow-out of PeacePlayers International in the semi-final round. Throughout the weekend, the Alumni displayed tremendous ball-movement and outside shooting, traits perfected under the tutelage of Coach Mike Brey at the University of Notre Dame. The inside tandem of Rob Kurz and Ty Nash will be supplemented in the Championship Game by 6'11" former McDonald's All-American Torin Francis, who hails from Massachusetts.
