Chef Josh Lewin of Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro (BHHB) has been making a lot of noise lately. Whether it's his creative pop up restaurant concepts around the city, or his new playful take on bistro fare heading up the kitchen at the BHHB, Lewin has quickly become a rising star in the Boston restaurant scene.
Lewin and Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro are resurrecting dishes of days gone by as daily specials in celebration of #TBT, or #ThrowbackThursdays - the name of a weekly post theme that social media users participate in as part of a very general "throwback" activity for posting content.
Lewin is very active on social media and his first #TBT special came from suggestions from fellow twitter users. This week's particular dish came from Abby Ruettgers Farm & Fable owner who posed the idea of recreating the now gone Locke-Ober dish "Lobster Savannah" (recipe link here). This ode to Locke-Ober special will be $16.00 in remembrance of its vintage 1939 price of $1.60. This special is available only this Thursday evening.
Customers are encouraged to tweet their ideas for future #TBT specials to chef lewin @jlewin or the BHHB @beaconhillhotel.
