The Boston Red Sox have captured the American League Pennant!! Now they will face the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series, which starts this week on Wednesday, October 23. Game Two will be played on Thursday, October 24. First pitch is at 8:07pm for both games. This will be the fourth time that these storied franchises have met in the Fall Classic. The Cardinals broke our hearts in ’46 and ’67, but the Red Sox ended an 86 year title drought when they swept St. Louis in 2004.
Now it’s 2013. Both teams dominated their respective leagues this year so it’s fitting that they meet again to determine who gets to hoist the Commissioner’s Trophy. Game 2 will feature young stud Michael Wacha for St. Louis going up against John Lackey, who was spectacular against Detroit in the ALCS. Grab your coat as the forecast calls for a chilly night.
