BOSTON, MA (June 4, 2014) - Smart Destinations has released a brand new Boston Attraction Package in conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), and the upcoming exhibition, "Magna Carta: Cornerstone of Liberty." The Magna Carta Boston History Pass features five top historical Boston attractions - including the MFA - that illuminate the influence of the Magna Carta on American history and its legacy in the modern political American system.

"Magna Carta: Cornerstone of Liberty" is one of the most highly anticipated exhibitions of Boston's visitor season. Featuring one of only four surviving copies of the original 1215 Magna Carta, this exhibition explores the legacy of that landmark document with a series of portraits and works of art selected from among the MFA's collection, alongside historical loans from the Massachusetts Historical Society and other lenders. Featured works include the MFA's own "Sons of Liberty Bowl," created by Paul Revere in 1768 and engraved with the words "Magna/Charta" and "Bill of/Rights," as well as sculptures, portraits, and historical documents related to early American political and social movements. The exhibition will be on display from July 2 - September 1, 2014.
In addition to the MFA, the Magna Carta Boston History Pass also includes free admission to the Freedom Trail Foundation's Walk Into History Tour, the Paul Revere House, the Old State House Museum, and the Old South Meeting House.

"We're thrilled to offer this new money-saving package in conjunction with the MFA," said Judy Gauthier, Regional Director with Smart Destinations. "The Magna Carta exhibit will be a rare opportunity for Bostonians and visitors to see one of the most important documents in American history and we don't want our customers to miss it."

"We are expecting a 6% growth in visitor activity this summer and the Magna Carta exhibit is one of the major events that will drive visitors to Boston. Our industry owes a special thank you to State Representative Cory Atkins, the chair person of the Massachusetts House of Representatives' Committee on Tourism, Arts and Cultural Development who was responsible for bringing the Magna Carta exhibit to Boston and Massachusetts," said Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau President & CEO Patrick Moscaritolo. "Thanks to Representative Atkins and The Smart Destinations Magna Carta Boston History Pass visitors to Boston have a great opportunity to see the exhibit and to save money," Moscaritolo added.

The Magna Carta Boston History Pass is available on the Bureau's website www.BostonUSA.com.
