You will be seeing us a lot this summer!  Jason, Travis and several of our hotel, convention center staff, and General Managers will be in New York City making sales calls in June.  At this same time Maureen and the hotel sales people who work the DC market will be attending the AMPS annual picnic in Virginia.  If you are out and about during this time you will also see the Boston crew delivering ice cream to try to keep our customers cool.

Lisa is making a quick trip to Houston for the 2010 NBTA International Convention and Exposition. Boston will host the annual meeting in 2012 and we want to make sure we put on a record breaking meeting for them!  Travis will be on the road again to Los Angeles for ASAE in August and Michelle seems to spend a lot of time with groups meeting on the West Coast this year where she is getting everybody excited to meet in Boston in 2011.

The 28th annual Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl® presented by FedEx raised more than $300,000 for cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute  Since its inception in 1983 the Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl® has raised more than $2.65 million for cancer research and care.  GBCVB staff members Jason Ward, Holly Goldsmith, Travis Atkins, and Eliza Pond stopped by to support a great cause and also took some time to sample a "few" of their favorite ice cream flavors.

Every year for the past 13 years, ABCD (Action for Boston Community Development, Inc.) has teamed up with the Boston Red Sox to give people the opportunity of a lifetime - the chance to play at Fenway Park!.  Corporations donate money to ABCD and the money is used to benefit ABCD's SummerWorks program  In return for the donation, the company fields a softball team that gets to play against other corporate-fielded teams on the historic turf at Fenway Park.  This year, GBCVB President and CEO, Pat Moscaritolo (second from left) played and helped to raise more than $201,000 for summer jobs for inner-city Boston teenagers.
