Upcoming Exhibits:

This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Polticis in the 1980s: November 15, 2012 - March 3, 2012
The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago has organized This Will Have Been: Art, Love & Politics in the 1980s, an ambitious presentation that represents the diversity and complexity of art produced during the 1980s - from the Pictures generation to neo-expressionism, from the rise of photography to the emergence of abject art - offering a historical overview while situating our contemporary moment within the history of art of the recent past.

Ragnar Kjartansson: Song: December 12, 2012 - April 7, 2013
Born in Reykjavik in 1976, Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson explores the boundary between reality and fiction. Using musical sounds, lyrics, and gestures, his performances and videos play with our ideas of myth, cultural history, and identity. As Kjartansson says, "In Iceland, there is a 1,000-year history, and no proof that it existed, but there are all these stories - the poetry, the sagas. And my performance works exist mostly as stories."

Mickalene Thomas: December 12, 2012 - April 7, 2013
Mickalene Thomas is known for her vibrant, rhinestone-adorned paintings of African American women. Drawing on references from art history and popular culture, Thomas's work introduces a complex vision of female sexuality, beauty, and power. Her most recent work includes a series of fractured interiors and landscapes, which for Thomas, are further explorations of the body and nature.
