On view for The Fenway Cultural Alliance's "Opening Our Doors" Festival and through October is
ENfold/Evans Way Park - a temporary installation created by Perkins + Will in the historic Frederick Law Olmsted's Evans Way Park.
ENfold is a 500-foot translucent ribbon (lit during the night with 240 feet of LED tape lights) that extends across Evans Way park and derives its form from the graceful canopy of trees that cover it.
ENfold/Evans Way Park will function as an interactive backdrop to the Alliance's programming on its hallmark day of free cultural activities on Columbus Day each year--Opening Our Doors, held on this upcoming Monday, October 8. ENfold will be on view for the public through October 31.
For Opening Our Doors, it will be a frame for musical performances including Afro-Brazil - a Brazilian drumming band, a tai chi exhibition, and a plethora of other artistic experiences. As the Fenway "opens its doors" to the entire extended community, the installation will gently embrace its visiting creators inspiring new experiences with both nature and the arts.
ENfold/Evans Way Park will provide support for the organized free outdoor programming of Opening Our Doors on Monday, October 8. A schedule of all free activities of Opening Our Doors on Oct. 8 can be found at www.fenwayculture.org.
