AQUARIUM TRANSFORMATION IN PROGRESS
The Aquarium is open and in the midst of a renovation that will renew its main building to the core. Many of our largest animals have taken over the penguin exhibit while the Giant Ocean Tank is under construction. But don't worry - the little blue penguins are safe and sound in a temporary exhibit with even closer viewing access. Around the corner, the New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center is supercharged with fur seals and sea lions at play, and cownose rays are gliding within your reach at The Trust Family Foundation Shark and Ray Touch Tank. There are more than 800 different marine animal species on exhibit during construction. Don’t miss your chance to see the Aquarium being transformed before your eyes.

February will be an exciting month at the New England Aquarium as the Largest Shark and Ray Touch Tank on the East Coast allows visitors to reach out and gently stroke cownose rays, bonnethead sharks, Atlantic rays and epaulette sharks.

SEALS AND SEA LIONS AT PLAY
New Balance Foundation Marine Mammal Center
The seals and sea lions are always at play. Get to know these energetic marine mammals with our special program guide, and learn how you can help them in the wild. Watch California sea lions dart through the water and limber Northern fur seals lope in this beautiful open air exhibit space. Learn about the challenges marine mammals face in the wild, and get a new perspective on fitness with New Balance Foundation Fitness Friday training sessions!.

IMAX presentations in February include To the Arctic in 3D as well as Under the Sea, Sharks, Deep Sea, and Dolphins and Whales all featured in 3D.

Opening February 15 at the Simons IMAX Theatre will be The Last Reef: Cities Beneath the Sea which uses new underwater 3D technology to take you closer than you ever imagined into the heart of distant cities, home to many animals and plants. Shot on location in Palau, Vancouver Island, French Polynesia, Mexico and the Bahamas.
