For a mere $12, you could try samples from some of Boston's finest eateries and help determine which one will win the coveted championship bowl for the city's best chowder by voting for your favorite. There will be more than two thousand gallons(!) served by chowder masters, including last year's winners, Anthem Kitchen + Bar, as well as other restaurants such as Hyatt Harborside Grill, Foster's Bar and Grill at Wyndham Beacon Hill, and Waterline at Boston Marriott Long Wharf.
The Chart House will also be ladling out its legendary chowder. It won Chowderfest so many times, it's earned Hall of Fame status and is ineligible for voting. That's right. We're so bonkers about the bivalve brew, we have a chowder hall of fame.
Chowderfest will take place as part of Boston Harborfest, a weeklong celebration of the Fourth of July that features the city's colonial and maritime heritage and its important place in the nation's history. It is also among the featured Summer Selects...Boston events that we've handpicked for you.
