Nothing quite grabs our attention more than "free." Getting something for nothing gives us great pleasure regardless of our means -- especially when it's something we truly want.

Beginning June 28 and continuing through the summer, Free Fun Fridays will offer something you truly want, namely admission to many of the Boston area's finest museums and cultural venues, for free. And by free, I mean nada. Not "buy one, get one free." Not "one child admitted free with each paying adult." Not "like us on Facebook, get four of your friends to purchase tickets, write an essay about why you deserve complimentary passes, and fill out an online form to get a code to scan into your smartphone which will reveal a special password." Just free, as in show up and walk right into the attraction of your choice without ever reaching for your wallet.

Six venues will be participating each week of the summer program. For example, on June 28 you could join a Walk Into History Tour presented by the Freedom Trail Foundation for zilch. On July 19, explore the JFK Library & Museum for zip. And the cost to enter the USS Constitution Museum and explore the history of the famed "Old Ironsides" ship on August 16? Bupkes. There are a total of 60 sights participating around Boston and throughout the state, and they are all offering free admission courtesy of the Highland Street Foundation.
