The live music scene is really starting to heat up as summer starts to sizzle in Boston. On June 12 and 14, the Rolling Stones, otherwise modestly known as the World's Greatest Rock Band, will be bringing their "50 and Counting" tour to the TD Garden. (By the by, the "50" refers to the age of the band, not the ages of the band members, which have -- or will shortly -- ahem, shattered 70.)

On the lower end of the age spectrum, Bruno Mars will also be bringing his tour to the Gahden (as we Bostonians lovingly call the joint) on June 26. Across town at the lovely Bank of America Pavilion outdoor shed that overlooks the harbor (or "habah," as we lovingly call it), some great acts will be stopping by, including The Postal Service on June 12, LL Cool J with Ice Cube on June 19, Sting on June 21, and The Go-Go's and The B-52s on June 23. What better place to groove to "Rock Lobster" (or "lobstah"...all right, that's enough of that) than our crustacean-loving city? Seriously, the BoA Pavilion is a picture-perfect place to spend a summer evening enraptured by great music.

Catch one of your favorite acts in concert and build a vacation around it. It's one more reason Summer Selects...Boston, and why you should come to our city this summer. Our BostonUSA Web site has all kinds of resources to help you plan the perfect getaway including a roundup of Boston-area events and places to stay. Despite what the Stones may say, you can always get what you want -- or at least you can when you select Boston for your summer vacation.
