We love our Red Sox, even when the bums are losing more games than they are winning which is the unfortunate circumstance we find ourselves in at the moment. They went from last place in 2012 to World Series champs last year and have somehow reverted back to last place again this season. It's been quite the roller coaster ride for Sox fans.

We love going to Fenway Park too. But, what are fans to do when the boys of summer are playing an away game? On Sunday, July 27, they can head to a different park to catch all of the action. Boston Common will be the site of "Out of the Park," a free community event featuring a live broadcast of the Red Sox/Rays matchup set to start at 1:40 p.m.

Bring a blanket or some chairs, find a spot in front of the giant screen, and cheer on the hometown team. Fenway's announcer, TJ Connelly, will be on hand to host the event, and a live broadcaster will provide some play-by-play commentary. There will also be music by the Hot Tamales Brass Band and an appearance by Wally the Green Monster (who should feel right at home with his green friends in the Frog Pond). Face painters, balloon artists, and caricaturists will keep the kids entertained.

What's a Red Sox game without stuff to eat? Free popcorn will be available as will Fenway Franks and Hood ice cream. You could bring a picnic meal to supplement the giveaways. Win or lose, it should be plenty of fun. (But here's hoping the bearded bums win.)
