LOGAN AIRPORT ACCESSIBILITY:

  • The MBTA Silver Line rapid transit bus is wheelchair accessible and serves all airport terminals
  • If a passenger with a disability requires assistance to/from the gate or medical equipment such as oxygen at the gate, a pass provided by the airline must be shown at the security checkpoint
  • Elevators are available in all garages and terminals. All elevators are equipped with emergency call buttons and Braille
  • Terminals include accessible ramps and elevators
  • Accessible restrooms and family restrooms are located in all terminals
  • Service animals are allowed throughout the airport. Animal relief areas are located outside the lower level at all terminals
  • In case of emergency, audio-visual fire alarms and automated external defibrillators are available throughout the airport
  • The distance from the departure level sidewalk to the ticket counter range from 70 - 110 feet
  • Vision Assistance: Massport partners with Aira to help people who are blind or have low vision safely navigate the airport. Aira connects users to live agents via a mobile app and/or assistive smart glasses to navigate every step of the airport, from the curb and check-in area all the way to the gate
  • Accessible parking with a valid HP* plate or placard is available in all garages, even when the sign says “Full"
  • Accessible pick-up and drop-off areas are available at all terminal entrances.
  • Short-term drop-off with HP* plates can be arranged for a maximum of 15 minutes for drivers who must accompany a person with disabilities into the terminal
  • Economy Parking provides offsite accessible parking and free accessible shuttle bus service to and from the terminals
  • *If you are taking your HP placard with you on your trip, please register it with the Parking Office before you leave
     

AMTRAK ACCESSIBILITY:

  • Amtrak trains accommodate most standard-sized mobility devices in use today. However, due to differences in passenger car design, train layout and boarding devices (like ramps, lifts and bridge plates), some routes or passenger equipment can accommodate larger devices than others.
  • Reservations for one-way and round-trip train travel can be made on Amtrak.com and in the mobile app for passengers who travel with service animals; passengers who are deaf or have a hearing loss; passengers who are blind or have a vision loss; passengers who need space for a wheeled mobility device, access to the transfer accessible seat or an accessible room; or passengers with a disability who do not need assistance.

MBTA BUS ACCESSIBILITY:

  • Buses can be lowered for easier boarding and exiting
  • Onboard ramps are available at the front door of each bus
  • 2 areas where wheeled mobility devices can be secured are available on every bus
  • Digital displays and automated announcements that share key route and stop information are provided
     

MBTA SUBWAY ACCESSIBILITY:

  • Portable Bridge plates that span the gap between the platform and the train are available. Contact the MBTA station personnel or train staff if you require the use of a bridge plate
  • Escalators, ramps, and elevators  are available in a growing number of stations
  • Dedicated seating areas for customers who use wheeled mobility devices are available in every cart
  • Automated audio and visual announcements of train stops, destinations, and arrival times are provided
  • Massport provides free shuttle bus service from Airport Station (blue line) to all terminals and the Logan Water Shuttle dock
  • Service animals are always welcome on MBTA vehicles and property during all hours of operation

THE RIDE:

The RIDE paratransit service provides door-to-door, shared-ride public transportation to people who can’t use the subway, bus, or trolley all or some of the time due to temporary or permanent disability. Schedule your trip on The RIDE one to five days in advance.
