MBTA: Brookline is just west of Boston and easily reached via the C and D branches of the Green Line
Brookline abuts several Boston neighborhoods including Brighton and Allston. Brookline separated from Boston in the early 18th century and enjoys strategic proximity to Boston locales such as the Fens and Back Bay. Brookline was the first community in the Commonwealth to adopt the representative town meeting form of government and is distinguished by its superb school system, eclectic shops and restaurants, and beautiful parks. The John F. Kennedy birthplace is located in Brookline and operated by the National Park Service. Other famous citizens include Robert Kraft, James Taylor, and Conan O’Brien.
