There's no getting around it. It can get a bit chilly in our fair city during the winter. But live music has a way of warming our souls and filling us with light. We are fortunate to have many venues and performance spaces that bring a wide variety of artists to Boston.

Whether it be jazz, pop, country, classic rock, or virtually any other type of music, there is bound to be a show to which you could warm up this season. Consider planning a winter getaway and including a musical performance as one of the highlights.

Here are some of the venues and hot acts coming to Boston this winter:

  • House of Blues Boston
    Panic! At The Disco, January 30, 2014- The pop punk/emo masters will be featuring cuts from their latest release, "Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die."
    Bob Weir & RatDog, February 24 and 25- The Grateful Dead guitarist and singer brings his freewheeling band to town. Expect plenty of Dead covers.
  • Regattabar Jazz Club at the Charles Hotel, Cambridge (Harvard Square)
    Buckwheat Zydeco, February 27- The accordionist and his band play an infectious blend of Zydeco, country, and rhythm and blues.
  • Ryles Jazz Club, Cambridge (Inman Square)
    No Static, February 7- The local band pays homage to one of my all-time favorites, Steely Dan.
  • The Wilbur, Boston
    Lyle Lovett & John Hiatt, January 23- Two of music's most distinctive voices join together. Are you ready for a thing called love?
  • TD Boston Garden, Boston
    Lady Antebellum, January 31- The Grammy-lauded country trio will take the Garden's big stage.
    Justin Timberlake, February 27- The hugely popular, multi-talented artist brings his 20/20 tour to town.
