COSEBOC 2018 Gathering of Leaders

May 29-31 Boston Park Plaza

We look forward to welcoming you to Boston for COSEBOC's 12th Annual Gathering of Leaders. Boston is where public education began, and it's where the Gathering got its start back in 2007. Once again, this year's event is certain to be an exciting, engaging and informative experience.

This year's theme - Boys & Young Men of Color: Liberated, Empowered & Educated - will set a powerful and energizing tone. It will be woven through every aspect of the Gathering. In advance of your attendance, I would urge you to consider this essential question: What do I need to do, know and understand to liberate, empower and educate all of my students - in particular, boys and young men of color?

I encourage you to reflect on that question as you listen to presentations and workshops, and look for opportunities to share your thoughts about it with others in attendance. Bring your full self to this year's Gathering. Be open to new provocations. Look for chances to network and to deepen your knowledge base. Above all, come knowing that you are part of a movement dedicated to preparing students to success in school, career, community, and life.

The Greater Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau, along with the Boston Hospitality Partners are thrilled to welcome the COSBOC Gathering to Boston. A lot has changed here recently, so be prepared to be introduced to a new Boston. Our Waterfront is booming with restaurants and harbor walks, our museums have expanded and our hotels have renovated. But not to worry, our mix of colonial charm and urban sophistication still shines through making Boston a dynamic site for meetings of all kind.

Even though Boston is one of the largest cities in the country, its accessibility is unparalleled. And while it's easy to  see the sights on foot, Boston also has an excellent public transportation system. In addition to everything within the city limits,  some of Massachusetts' most scenic and historic towns are just a short distance from the city center and its proximity to other must-see sites all around New England, make it one of the country's most diverse and exciting locations.
