Blue Man Group Boston is hosting an exclusive Blue Man World book event during ArtWeek Boston on Wednesday, October 5 at 6:30 pm, celebrating the publication of the group’s first ever book, one of many new creative projects commemorating Blue Man Group’s 25th year.
The event will feature Blue Man Group co-founder and Blue Man Production CEO, Phil Stanton, an award-winning writer, performer and Grammy-nominated musician and composer. Stanton is based in New York City and performed in Boston when the show first opened at the Charles Playhouse in 1995. Stanton will be joined by members of the local show cast who will share behind-the-scenes stories and details about their experiences performing in Boston and how Blue Man Group has turned into the international sensation it is today.
Blue Man World is Blue Man Group’s first ever book released on October 4th. This graphically rich, textually dynamic, cheekily clever deep dive into the world of the Blue Men is a hilarious cultural satire. Including archival photographs, specially commissioned artwork, infographics and interviews with Blue Man experts (both real and potentially not real), it answers all the burning questions including: Who are these Blue Men? Where do they come from? Why are there only three of them? What drives their curiosity? What do they hope to accomplish?
“We’re excited to partner with ArtWeek Boston for this special event around our first book and offer an insider’s look at what we do,” said Jonathan Screnci, Blue Man Group Boston Resident General Manager. “Having Phil come to Boston and not only speak about the book, but his 25 years of Blue Man Group experiences, is such a treat for any art, theater or music fan.”
The evening will also include a wine and cheese reception, discussion, Q&A session, book signing and meet & greet opportunity with the Blue Men. Tickets are $39 and include the event and a copy of Blue Man World. Tickets can be purchased at https://www.blueman.com/boston/artweek.
