Boston MA) November 3, 2017 - The Boy Scout of America Spirit of Adventure Council will host the 41st annual “Salute to Scouting” gala at The Westin Copley Place on Thursday, November 30th, starting at 6pm. This signature Boston event attracts a large crowd of business and civic leaders who support Boy Scout youth development programs throughout the Greater Boston area.
The Boy Scouts will honor Anthony Consigli, Chief Executive Officer of Consigli Construction, and Peter Reynolds, Founder and CEO of FableVision, as outstanding examples of corporate citizenship and positive community involvement. WCVB TV anchor Randy Price, himself a proud Eagle Scout, will serve as master of ceremonies.
Mr. Consigli will receive the “Ralph Lowell Distinguished Citizen Award” for his active role in working to address community issues through his involvement with helping others. The award is named for the great Bostonian banker and philanthropist who founded the WGBH Educational Foundation. Consigli Construction founded The Consigli Foundation as a way to give back to the communities in which it does business. The Consigli Foundation uses its resources to aid community building projects, mentor the next generation of industry leaders, and to help people and families in need.
The Boy Scouts will present the “Distinguished Eagle Scout Award” to Peter H. Reynolds for his extraordinary national eminence in his field as well as his strong record of voluntary community service. The award, granted to recipients a minimum of 25 years after achieving Eagle Scouts, has only been awarded 2,180 times since its inception in 1969.
Mr. Reynolds has contributed to the writing and illustration of more than 30 children’s books throughout his career. His company FableVision produces software to classrooms with the goal of helping all learners reach their full potential while enjoying their education.
