Woodpeckers, sparrows, doves, crows, and robins are just some of the birds that call Boston home. Learn how to identify these birds and others during the “Celebrate Urban Birds” citizen science project.

Adults and families with children 10 years and older can learn and practice their birding skills in Franklin Park. In this program, participants will collect data from bird sightings and submit it to the Cornell Lab of Ornithology’s “Celebrate Urban Birds” citizen science project! Citizen science is data collection made by the public that’s used by scientists in the field, and in this case, to help conserve and protect local urban bird species.

A free bird ID kit, refreshments, and a live animal encounter are also included.
