Works by nearly 40 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer-identifying craft artists from New England and across the country converge for “PRIED,” a new exhibition curated by Izzy Berdan and Dave J. Bermingham of the Boston LGBTQIA Artist Alliance. Suggesting both the annual gay pride festival and the idea of delving uninvited into personal affairs, “PRIED” celebrates and challenges notions of “queer craft,” recognizing works that don’t focus solely on the makers’s sexuality, but on how these artists wrestle with social issues and their places in the world. Features work by artists in all areas of craft including furniture maker Vivian Beer,  mixed-media and ceramics artists Larry Buller and Arthur Halvorsen, multidisciplinary artist Brian Kenny, and Detroit jewelry and metal artist Matt Lambert.  Free and open to the public. Gallery hours at societyofcrafts.org

Opening Reception: Thu., April 25, 6-9 pm
