Open Newbury is returning to bring even more shoppers, diners, and visitors to Newbury Street this summer.
On July 14, August 11, and September 15, Newbury Street will close to vehicular traffic and become a pedestrian-only walkway. For one day, visitors will have access to the full width of Newbury Street, reminiscent of other pedestrian promenades in other world-class cities.
A car-free Newbury Street creates a unique opportunity for you and your business to think outside the box and activate the new space available to you to attract new customers.
The Back Bay Association and the City of Boston encourage Newbury Street businesses to make the most of this unique opportunity. Entice guests into your shop by activating the sidewalk with a unique experience. Extend your patio for guests to sit and enjoy some refreshments, creating a pop-up sidewalk cafe.
We also encourage businesses off Newbury Street to support this program by encouraging their employees to visit Newbury Street that day.
More information, including how to sign up to participate, will be coming soon.
