In partnership with the Trustees of Reservations/The Old Manse, Minuteman National Historic Park, OARS, and SuAsCo Wild and Scenic River Stewardship Council, The Umbrella Arts & Environment Program celebrates the longest day of the year as the capstone event to Riverfest weekend on Sunday, June 23, 2019!
Schedule of Activities
3PM-6PM: Solstice Cardboard Boat Challenge
Can you make a boat out of cardboard and paddle it 25 yards? Before it sinks? Can you design your boat not only for maximum flotation and speed but also to blend in with the river habitat? In an hour and a half?
We challenge you to test your engineering skills and have a blast building a cardboard boat to race in the Concord River! You just bring your team and intrepid spirit, and we’ll provide the materials! Winner categories include: First boat across the finish line; Most creative Concord River habitat design; Most spectacular sinking.
* Free online registration required to race
