The Freedom Trail Foundation is the OFFICIAL non-profit organization that promotes and supports Boston's Freedom Trail, a 2.5 mile historic walking trail. Relive the story of the American Revolution in its original setting - real buildings and places- where the patriots engaged in daring and dangerous activity to overthrow England's rule of the colonies.

Follow the red line for a Walk Into History on the streets of this sophisticated city and into the 16 sites where exhibits and interactive experiences bring the story to life. Take a walking tour with a Freedom Trail Player, an 18th century costumed guide, and learn the tales of the American Revolution as you retrace the footsteps of Americans who fought for freedom and played a significant role in the formation of the country. It's American history, but not the same old story. Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing.

Tours begin at Boston Common Visitor Information Center and Bostix Booth at Faneuil Hall daily. Tickets are available online at 10% discount at Group rates for families, school and corporate groups are available. Additional themed tours also available throughout the year.  Because the Foundation is a non profit organization - A PORTION OF EVERY TICKET SALE SUPPORTS PRESERVATION OF THE FREEDOM TRAIL. Check out for a calendar of events, tickets and history facts and stories.
