The Newport Mansions are landmarks of a vibrant era. To capture the flavor of Gilded Age, the Preservation Society has included the voices, memories and experiences of generations of people who lived and worked in these houses through a series of audio tours of The Breakers, The Elms, Marble House & Rosecliff. From Marble House, where the Duke of Marlborough met his future Duchess, Consuelo Vanderbilt to The Elms, where actress Ethel Barrymore and President Teddy Roosevelt’s daughter Alice were among more than 400 housewarming party guests, discover a world of exceptional elegance and inspiration in architecture, landscapes and social history. Our group tour options range from discounted rates for student field trips, to exclusive pricing for tour operators and meetings planners, to a variety of special events held annually such as The Newport Flower and the Newport Mansions Wine & Food Festival, all at discounted rates. Located 50 miles south of Boston, touring is available year round with three houses open and decorated for the holiday season. Audio tours of The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House are also available in French, German & Spanish. Audio tours in Chinese are available at The Breakers & The Elms.
