Darrell LeMar is the Executive Director of Workforce Development at Bunker Hill Community College, the largest community college in Massachusetts. Darrell oversees corporate training, community education, the Community Center for Entrepreneurship,and adult basic education including HiSet (formerly known as GED) preparation in both English and Spanish.
Prior to transitioning to higher education, Darrell spent much of his career in economic development and social services at the state,city and with on-profit organizations. He was most recently the Strategic Planning Manager for the Massachusetts Marketing Partnership (MMP), a government entity that was created by the Massachusetts legislature in 2010 to coordinate the activities of the MA Office for Travel and Tourism (MOTT), MA Film Office(MFO), MA Sports Marketing Partnership (MSMP), and the MA Office for International Trade and Investment (MOITI). Darrell is MMP's point person on municipal affairs.
Prior to his appointment at MMP, Darrell served as the Deputy Associate Director for the Division of Housing Stabilization at the MA Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) where he was the deputy for all homeless services in the Commonwealth. He had oversight of 80 employees who served as the front line staff to determining a family's eligibility for $168 million state funded homeles s shelter services.
Darrell earned a Master of Science in Public Affairs from the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies at the University of Massachusetts in Boston where he was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the Global Honor Society for Public Affairs & Administration. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language with a minor in Russian from UMass/Boston.
