The Boston waterfront is immaculate.  A gorgeous Harborwalk takes visitors along the shoreline of Boston Harbor, which is one of the cleanest urban harbors in the world.  Rent a bicycle or join a tour with Urban Adventours, shop at craft markets and enjoy majestic public art along the Greenway, or buy a ticket aboard Boston Harbor Cruises for transport out to the Boston Harbor Islands, Stellwagen Bank and destinations beyond such as Salem and Cape Cod.

For the golf enthusiast, Pinehills Golf Club in nearby Plymouth, offers two 18-hole championship courses designed by Rees Jones and Nicklaus Design. Granite Links in Quincy offers 27 holes with spectacular views of the Boston skyline.

Boston is home to lush parcels of urban green space, from the Greenway, to the Esplanade, and along the Emerald Necklace, which stretches from the historic parks of downtown, along Commonwealth Avenue, through the Fens, and out to Jamaica Plain.  The Emerald Necklace includes bike paths and walkways that make for a recreational delight.  If you prefer to be on the water,  swing over to Charles River Canoe & Kayak in Kendall Square and explore the Charles River.  Or try your hand at rowing at the Community Rowing Center in Brighton and don't miss Courageous Sailing on the Esplanade.
