Boston is a shopaholic’s dream! Start in the Back Bay, home to high-end Copley Place, The Prudential Center, and of course Newbury Street. Premium designer brands abound, from Chanel and Gucci, to Michael Kors, Dior, and Burberry! Newbury Street stretches 8 blocks and is also home to art galleries, antique shops, salons and cafes.
On the eastern end of the Back Bay you will find Charles Street in the historic Beacon Hill neighborhood. Behold the Federalist Era architecture while browsing windows and exploring antiques and boutiques. Charles Street also features a number of art galleries.
Faneuil Hall Marketplace is an amazing outdoor/indoor gallery of shopping. Within Faneuil Hall, shelves teem with souvenirs, and behind the historic hall is Quincy Market with its myriad food vendors and souvenir carts available for a quick purchase on the go. Faneuil Hall Marketplace features a wide array of retailers, from Newbury Comics to Abercrombie & Fitch and everything in between, including hip, contemporary stores like Urban Outfitters and Uniqlo.
Across the river more shopping is available in Harvard Square and the multi-level Cambridgeside Galleria. And beyond Boston the outlet malls beckon. Assembly Row is quick ride on the Orange Line and is home to some 40 stores and a dozen restaurants. Head south to the Wrentham Premium Outlets if time allows. Or north to Kittery Outlets just over the border in Maine.
